Dr. David M. Markowitz is the new U.S. Army Chief Data Officer in the Office of the Chief Information Officer / G-6. He succeeds Gregory L. Garcia, who remains with the organization as the Acting CIO of the organization. Prior to his current position, Dr. Markowitz previously served as Assistant Deputy Chief of Staff at the Army G-8 office, where he supported the Army’s Chief of Staff in the areas of materiel requirements, strategic defense reviews, programming, studies and analyses. He also served as the technical director for the Center for Army Analysis.
