March 15, 2021: The U.S. Senate has confirmed Michael S. Regan as Administrator for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The Founder of M. Regan & Associates, Mr. Regan has served as Cabinet Secretary for the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality and has worked at the Environmental Defense Fund as Associate Vice President for U.S. Climate and Energy / Southeast Regional Director, State Strategic Implementation Senior Director for the U.S. Climate and Energy Program, and Southeast Climate and Energy Program Director. At the U.S. EPA he served as National Program Manager for Program Design in the Office of Air Quality Planning & Standards, as Environmental Protection Specialist in the Office of Air Quality Planning & Standards, as Special Assistant to the Director of Radiation and Indoor Air, and as Special Assistant to the U.S. Assistant Administrator of Air and Radiation. Mr. Regan earned a BS in earth and environmental science at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University and an MPA at George Washington University. He replaces former Administrator Andrew R. Wheeler.
