March 29, 2021: Lynn Parker Dupree has assumed the role of Chief Privacy Officer and Chief Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Officer at the Department of Homeland Security. Lynn most recently served as the Director of Governance and Controls in the Data Ethics and Privacy Office at Capital One Financial Corp. Before joining the private sector, Lynn held a variety of roles at the Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board. During her tenure from 2014 to 2020, Lynn’s roles in the organization included Attorney-Advisor, Deputy General Counsel, and Executive Director. Lynn also served in the Obama administration in multiple roles, including Deputy Associate Counsel for Presidential Personnel, Special Assistant to the General Counsel, and Special Assistant to the Chief Privacy Officer. Prior to joining the Obama administration, she was in private practice at Burr Forman, and served as a law clerk to Judge Michael Mills in the Northern District of Mississippi.
